Steve Bertram

Steve Bertram began the journey into his Marketing & Sales career in 1991 when he was accepted into the Marketing Program of Business Administration at Okanagan University in Vernon, BC. After Post-Secondary, he started in the media industry with Thomson Newspapers in Kelowna and then Vancouver. Over the next 13 years, he worked his way from being a top-selling advertising Sales Representative to eventually becoming an Advertising Manager at CanWest Global, a Canadian media giant. 

During this time, he also trained at UBC in the field of Graphic design and digital Imaging, and did freelance marketing work for a few select companies and small businesses to “stretch his creative muscles”.  

 When offered a sales management position in a newspaper start-up in Honolulu, Hawaii, he happily accepted the challenge and spent 6 months there on the re-launch of the Honolulu Star Bulletin.

REAL ESTATE SALES & MANAGEMENT

 After 13 years in print media, Steve decided he needed a new challenge and enrolled in the UBC Sauder School of Real Estate. This helped him make the transition into the Real Estate industry, and enabled him the chance to return to his hometown of Vernon, BC.

Together with his parents Ken & Fran Bertram,  he co-founded and co-managed  Macdonald Realty Vernon until 2006.  After deciding that the Real Estate market was lucrative enough for them to sell Macdonald Realty, they sold the company and rejoined RE/MAX Vernon, the company that Ken had originally founded in 1987!  Ken has since retired, but Steve remained at RE/MAX Vernon until 2011.  For 12 years after that, Steve was a top-producer with Value-Plus Realty in Vernon until 2023. 

And now, with a new business plan, an effective Brokerage, and a strong drive to succeed, Steve, at Flex Realty North Okanagan, aims even higher!

Over the years, Steve has developed a large client base of satisfied Buyers & Sellers, and he’s happy to say that most of his business comes through repeat customers and referrals!

Currently, you may hear Steve during his weekly Radio ‘Real Estate Report’ on 105.7 PureCountry FM Radio every Friday & Sunday morning, as well as on his Youtube Channel and Facebook & Instagram.

Steve prides himself on his creative marketing and home selling concepts, which is a combination of his over 32 years of combined marketing, sales & media experience. When he’s not selling Real Estate, Steve is tending to his hobby farm, skiing, target-shooting with his Wife, Marta and daughter, Elaine, or spending time boating on Okanagan Lake.
